How SecureShareBox Works
Learn about our security practices and how we protect your data
How SecureShareBox Works
Our platform is designed with security and privacy at its core, using end-to-end encryption to keep your data safe.
Encrypt Your Content
Upload your file or write a message. We encrypt everything directly in your browser before it leaves your device.
Share Secure Link
Get a secure, unique link that you can share with your recipient through any channel you prefer.
Recipient Views Content
When the recipient opens the link, the content is decrypted in their browser and displayed only to them.
Content Self-Destructs
After being viewed or when it expires, the content is permanently deleted from our servers. No traces left.
Security Architecture
SecureShareBox uses a client-side encryption model where all encryption and decryption happen directly in your browser:
- Client-Side Encryption: Your files and messages are encrypted in your browser before they're sent to our servers.
- AES-256 Encryption: We use the Advanced Encryption Standard with 256-bit keys, which is virtually unbreakable with current technology.
- Unique Keys: Each file or message gets its own unique encryption key, which is never sent to our servers in unencrypted form.
- Zero Knowledge: We have no way to access your encrypted content because we never receive your encryption keys.
Privacy Practices
Your privacy is our top priority. Here's how we ensure your data remains private:
- No Content Logging: We don't log or monitor the content of your files or messages.
- Automatic Deletion: Files and messages are permanently deleted after being viewed or when they expire.
- Minimal Metadata: We only store the minimal information required to deliver the service (expiration time, access count, etc.).
- No Third-Party Access: We never sell or provide your data to third parties.
Frequently Asked Security Questions
Can SecureShareBox access my files or messages?
No. All encryption and decryption happen in your browser. We only store encrypted data on our servers, and we don't have access to your encryption keys.
What happens if someone intercepts the link?
If someone gains access to a share link, they could potentially access your content. That's why we recommend sharing links through secure channels and using the Pro Plan's password protection and recipient verification features for sensitive content.
Is my data truly deleted after viewing?
Yes. Once content has been viewed the maximum number of times or has expired, it is permanently deleted from our servers. There is no way to recover it.
Do you comply with legal requests for data?
We comply with valid legal requests, but our zero-knowledge architecture means we typically cannot provide decrypted content. We can only provide metadata like access times and IP addresses when legally required.
